However, this 27-year-old didn’t stop from doing anything else to learn how to make basketball in games.According to a letter from Shams Charania of The Athletic, Dinwiddie obtained a Nigerian passport for him to play for Nigeria.

The untapped political power of African immigrants in the US is set to take off

When it comes to the polls, black African and Caribbean immigrants in the United States are becoming a force to reckon with owing to a fast-growing population. Between 2010 and 2018, the number of African and Caribbean immigrants in the U.S. rose by 30% to 4.3 million people from 3.3 million, according to a recent report from the bipartisan research group, New American Economy. Their growth has consequently led to more eligible Black immigrant voters.

Azubuike and Dotson Named 2020 Wooden Award All-Americans

Nigerian-Born Kansas University senior Udoka Azubuike and sophomore Devon Dotson were each named to the 10-member 2020 Men’s Wooden Award All-American Team, the Los Angeles Athletics Club announced Wednesday. Additionally, Azubuike was named one of five finalists for the 2020 Wooden Award. The men’s and women’s Wooden Award All-American teams were selected by the Wooden Award National Advisory Board.

Third-Culture Cooking: Making Efo Riro With Kemi Seriki

I came to the Bronx to learn how to make efo riro, a stew of leafy greens cooked in a savory tomato-pepper sauce, native to the Yoruba people of southwestern Nigeria. I left with a recipe only Kemi Seriki could have written.

Seriki moved to the States from Lagos, Nigeria, in 1982, to attend college and earn her master’s degree. She intended to move back to Nigeria after school, but she stayed in New York, where she now works as a youth counselor in the New York City court system.

Nigerian-American, Nneka Ogwumike, was voted Most Valuable Player after helping the USA women basket ball team secure a win over her native country.

It took nearly all 40 minutes for the 2020 USA Basketball Women’s National Team (3-0, 17-1) to earn its 76-71 victory over Nigeria (1-2) in the final game at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament on Sunday night in Belgrade, Serbia.
