The comedian had strong feelings about the subject during a recent “What’s in Your Glass?” podcast with NBA star Carmelo Anthony, saying she “would hate to give birth to someone that looks like me, knowing that they’re gonna be hunted or killed.”

2020 Great American Immigrants Awards | Eight Africans named among honorees by Carnegie Corporation of New York

The Carnegie Corporation of New York has released its annual list of Great American Immigrants and among the 2020 awardees are eight African immigrants born in Nigeria, Eritrea, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan and Ghana, as well as a Canadian born by Ghanaian parents.

Nigeria most hit by Trump’s new visa ban on four African countries

The Trump administration’s controversial visa and travel bans has now been extended to include four more African countries.

The new restrictions will see the United States no longer issue immigrant visas that offer a path to permanent residency, and possibly citizenship, to nationals of Nigeria and Eritrea, US officials have confirmed.

A Dayton man, Saheed Saleh, killed in the Sunday shooting at the Oregon District was an Eritrea native.Yahya Khamis, president of the Dayton Sudanese community, who spoke on behalf of Saleh’s family, said several members from across the state came to Dayton to pay their respects.

How Nipsey Hussle connected to his Eritrean roots

Eritrean-American Rapper Nipsey Hussle’s death in a shooting near his clothing store was greeted with shock and disbelief by celebrities and fans alike.

The 33-year-old musician, real name Ermias Davidson Asghedom, was shot dead in an attack on Sunday that also left two others injured.

The city of Los Angeles where he grew up and dedicated his life to helping kids break out of the cycle of gang violence mourned his passing.

Tiffany Haddish, Nomzamo Mbatha, V. Bozeman spotted at Koshie Mills’ “The Diaspora Dialogues”

Eritrian-Americans Tiffany Haddish was the star of the black carpet at the Koshie Mills presents “The Diaspora Dialogues” on Saturday afternoon (March 9) at the Marriott Hotel in Marina del Rey, Calif.

The 39-year-old Girls Trip actress looked pretty in a burgundy, velvet jumpsuit as she stepped out for the event.

The Diaspora Dialogues is a platform and a movement created by Koshie Mills designed to break down barriers, bridge the gap between Africans from Africa and the descendants outside of the continent in the Diaspora.

This year’s International Women Of Power event had a myriad of powerful influential women from Africa, West Indies, UK and America.

Ethiopian, Eritrean and Somali win in US Mid-term elections

History was made in the US mid-term election when Ilhan Omar, became the  first Somali-Muslim- American  to be elected to Congress. But there were two  other African-born American politicians who also won seats. One from Ethiopia and the other from Eritrea. All three are democrats.
