The Consul General of Nigeria in New York, Mr Benaoyagha Okoyen, says the consulate is operating above capacity especially in passport service delivery.
Okoyen said that although the situation was an indication of growing public confidence in the office, it had been a major challenge.

Atlanta is in the flight plan for Kenya Airways, a SkyTeam partner of Delta Air Lines Inc. which could eventually fulfill the latter’s decade-old effort to link its hometown and Nairobi, Kenya’s capital.
Kenyan Ambassador to the U.S. Robinson Njeru Githae told Global Atlanta that his country’s the flag carrier is eyeing links with Washington, then Atlanta, following the opening of a nonstop route to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport last October.

China president Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative, which has spread throughout the world including the African continent challenging the U.S.’s economic dominance, is proof enough of China’s ambitions.
But last week even in Atlanta there were intimations that a more dynamic role for the U.S. would be welcome in Africa if it upped its commitment.
The Nigerian Missions in the U.S. say promoting and protecting Nigerians’ legitimate interests and that of Nigeria remains the missions’ priority.
The missions gave the assurance in New York during a collaborative meeting between the Consul-General of Nigeria in New York, Mr Benaoyagha and the new Nigerian Consul-General in Atlanta, Mrs Aishatu Musa.
