DJIMON HOUNSOU, the Hollywood star who remembers his roots in Africa

Djimon Hounsou was born and raised in Benin Republic. The actor came to America as an adult to work in the fashion industry before landing his leading role in Amistad that changed everything. He has since gone on to star in Hollywood blockbusters like Jurassic Park  and Guardians of the Galaxy   .

Benin is a West African country that is rich in heritage and scenery. One trip to one of many national parks in the region will put you in touch with wildlife and help you connect with the nature in a new and wholesome way. There is also an artisan market in Se, Benin, that many tourists flock to for souvenirs to take home to their friends.

Perhaps one of the reasons why Benin is so significant is because of its diversity. The country is home to more than 60 ethnic groups. Major tribes in the region include Fon, Aja, and Yoruba. There is also the element of variety in nature. You visit the northern part of Benin to see arid landscapes. Meanwhile, the southern portion of the region offers a beautiful coastline and other intriguing sights.

Djimon and his son definitely spent time on the southern side of the country as Kenzo was photographed while sitting in a boat on the water. The celebrity father and his son also took pictures in town as one candid featured a house behind Djimon and Kenzo.
