Cameroonian-born doctor, Stella Immanuel has made an impassioned plea advocating the use of hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of Covid 19. A video of her arguments in support of the controversial treatment has gone viral and has been viewed over 13 million times on Facebook and YouTube, but both platforms have taken down the video. Regardless, the video is being shared relentlessly on WhatsApp, Twitter, Messenger and other messaging platforms.

A Ghanaian Doctor, Trained In China, Wants To Help Minnesota Fight Covid-19

Amewoke Adamaley is one of hundreds of foreign-trained doctors in the state who face hurdles to practicing in America.

Amewoke Adamaley graduated from medical school seven years ago and has been in the health care sector ever since.  But he isn’t working as the doctor he’s trained to be. Instead, he’s a nursing assistant at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota’s east bank hospital. That’s because Adamaley, who earned his medical degree from Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China, has a tougher pathway to practicing medicine in the U.S. than doctors who were trained in America.

Corona Virus: 3 Ugandans dead in US

At least three Ugandans succumbed to the virus last week; two in New York, and one in New Jersey, according to diplomatic sources. The deceased have been identified as Maria Giita, Edward Ssengendo Mugerwa, and a one Mugerwa, a resident of New Jersey.

Egyptian-American doctor helps to develop new COVID-19 test kit

Johns Hopkins University announced earlier in March that it had made a breakthrough that would allow testing 1,000 people for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) per day, reducing pressure on laboratories and allowing governments to better isolate those infected with the respiratory illness and control its spread.

Two specialists in microbiology developed the new test, one of them is Karen Carroll and the other is Egyptian-American Dr. Heba Mostafa.
